Seemingly born into insurance, Doug has a long and successful past in the industry, having taken the lead at big names like Budget, Keychoice and KGM. What he doesn’t know about insurance isn’t worth knowing and he is a real customer champion, tired of the big brand names letting customers down.

A Director and Shareholder in the business, he said: “We deliver the best insurance policies at the best prices. It’s the whole reason we exist as a business. I am very proud of how we treat customers fairly and properly from a UK office with UK staff that you can call up and speak to again.”

Lorraine Mistry-Westcott

Insurance Sales Professional

Lorraine is an experienced administrator who has a super track record in customer service. She is new to the insurance industry in 2021. Indeed, she is already helping The Home Insurer to improve its processes and service practices. Probably the nicest person you can speak to on a phone.

Occasionally she is a rock chick who enjoys attending live gigs and drinking barista coffee. She said: “In this day and age, customer service is overlooked. People think call centres and apps take care of everything. They really don’t. That’s why I enjoy talking with people, developing relationships and delivering the best service, policy and prices possible.”

Jason McClean

Director

With a background in journalism and then owning a successful motorcycle world championship race team, Jason did not take the typical career route into insurance. A Director and Shareholder in the business, he now enjoys solving home insurance problems for clients on a daily basis.

A keen cyclist and reader of books, he said: “Thatch, unoccupied, landlord, flood, land – you name it, I like solving insurance problems for clients and saving them money. Almost as much as I like riding my bike, supporting the Ulster rugby team or travelling with the family.”

Julie Trott

Office Administrator

Julie Trott by name and Trott by nature; she enjoys nothing more than going for a good jog (trott?) and regularly runs half marathons at weekends just for fun. Easily the fittest person in the office, she brings a level of detail and professionalism that ensures the office works efficiently for staff and clients alike.

A fan of rugby where her daughter competes at a high level, Julie said: “I have a background in the care sector which has built into me an obsessive attention to detail. Now I am looking after people’s home insurance needs and ensuring everything is in place, correct and all in order. I’ve gone from caring for people in a home to caring for people’s homes.”

Tom Chapman

Having sold property insurance policies for numerous brokers, Tom is now thriving in a role that allows him to use his expertise to assist customers who are struggling to find cover anywhere else in the market. A family man at heart, he pretends to know a lot about football, cricket and rugby.

He said: “We do home insurance the way it should be done. We speak with clients, understand their needs and deliver a tailor-made policy to fit. We usually save them a lot of money too. I don’t mind talking to clients about the cricket results either…”

After spending 21-years helping clients get home insurance at Swinton, Leanne joined The Home Insurer in early 2019 and hasn’t looked back since. Probably the friendliest person in the office and certainly the one that brings in the plants. She enjoys plane spotting when not at work. Seriously, she likes nothing better than camping in a wet field staring at the clouds hoping to see a Spitfire.
